Wii Controller that looks like a touch pad?

In one video I saw a Nintendo controller that looked like a pad that players were hitting with your fingers really fast … What is this called? The video showed a family of four all with this line in front of them on a table of coffee in his living room. They were watching the TV screen in the room which was not a DS.

There is no such thing, but it sounds like a DS or something with a touch screen.
