Super Mario – Since forever

Mario is easily one of the most recognizable faces to come out of Nintendo, but did you know his original name was Jumpman? So, in 1981 Mario first appeared in Donkey Kong, but then went by the name of Jumpman, but Mario was used as the name in some promotional material.

This Nintendo game is extremely surprised by its success. To test the popularity of Mario, Nintendo released an Arcade Game called Marion Bros., Mario and brother Luigi. This game was a huge success for Nintendo. Due to the success of both Donkey Kong and Mario Bros., in 1983, when Nintendo released the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), they also release Super Mario Bros.

References to the original name appear in a couple of Mario games, like in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, when a member of public refers to Mario as Jumpman before a battle, and in Mario Hoops 3-on-3, where his nickname is "The Jumpman".

Mario look, even to this day current can be blamed on the limitations placed on programmers and artists back in the early '80s by current technology.

The programmers could not animate Mario's arms when he moved without making disappear, giving him a monkey and a solid color shirt.

In addition, there was no room for a face or ears, and could not animate his hair, which gave him a mustache, sideburns and a baseball cap. Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario, has stated in interviews that Mario is a baseball cap because it is difficult to draw hair.

Mario surname or family name is also Mario, which explains the use of Mario Bros. as titles games since Luigi's brother Mario, so they have the same surname. It was first used in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, and then again in 1993 in a movie called Super Mario Bros.. Nintendo as a whole has never officially confirmed, but was released on Nintendo Europe's official Mario Megasite.

Since Mario has been popular has been the unofficial mascot of Nintendo. It was very long and possibly sold along with its only rival Sonic the Hedgehog, which became Sega's mascot in the early 1990.

They fought until 2001, when Sonic Adventure 2: Battle out for a Nintendo Console due to Sega's new third-party status. Despite that Sonic and Mario were now on Nintendo consoles, still competing with each other, but not as much.

It was not until recently that they have been seen working together in the newly released Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for the Wii. Also appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl together as well.

Mario is a 5-foot tall, portly plumber from Brooklyn, New York, who lives in Mushroom Kingdom. He is considered the most famous Video Game character history, and its series of games has sold over 193 million copies.

Mario has not only appeared on the platform makers, but in other genres as well. The other genera include the achievement, with Mario Kart, Sports Games like Mario Tennis, and RPGs such as Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

Although Mario said that the occupation is being a plumber, which is almost never seen doing any actual plumbing. With the exception of the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario Bros. original. Pipes is still a means of transport, however, although the reason for not being clear. However, in the original Donkey Kong game, Mario, still called Jumpman, it was actually a carpenter.

Mario has also appeared as a doctor in Dr. Mario. He has even been shown as an archaeologist on the Game Boy game, Mario Picross.

Mario's favorite pastime seems to be saving Princess Peach and the Mushroom Kingdom. Other ways he spends his time is to fight villains, namely Bowser. In RPGs, Mario was given a heroic status to save the Mushroom Kingdom so many times. In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, he and Luigi are called "stars", which basically means huge celebrities.

Since its first appearance in a video game, Mario has been given the role of the hero designed to save the damsel in distress. In the original Donkey Kong, had to rescue his girlfriend Pauline from Donkey Kong. Pauline, of course, did not stay in the series, and it was replaced by Princess Peach, which was originally referred to as "Princess Toadstool" or simply "the princess" in the release of English, in Super Mario Bros.

In 1993, with the release of Yoshi's Safari Princess Peach was finally used in an English statement of a Mario game, but still not as widely used until the release of Super Mario 64 for Nintendo 64, three years later. Pauline has only been seen twice since the original Donkey Kong, once in the new version for the Game Boy, and once in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, in 2006.

Since then it has been described as a friend of Mario, not girlfriend, which seems to be the position of Peach. Mario has received a kiss from her countless times, after each time he was rescued, but the real character their relationship has never been officially revealed, most likely to avoid the problems experienced with Paulina, but obviously there is passion shared between Mario and Peach.

More of Mario's abilities come from the elements that collects and uses. In platform games, is the Super Mushroom, which makes Mario double in size. He is called "Super Mario", when he is in this state, and also receives an additional point of impact.

Other examples of articles include the Fire Flower, which turns Mario into Fiery Mario, or just Fire Mario. This allows him to throw fireballs at his enemies. Another issue is the star, making Mario completely invincible, and allows you to defeat all enemies with a single touch.

In other versions of Mario platform trainers, there are other unique elements, as the Raccoon Leaf, and the pen of the Cape. The road turns into Raccoon Mario Raccoon Mario, and allows you to fly short distances by whipping his tail in the air, a kind of tail of Sonic the Hedgehog games.

Cape Pen obviously becomes Cape Mario Mario, allowing you to whip his cape to attack enemies, and also allowed to fly. In Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Mario can take the carrot of energy, which transforms Mario into Bunny Mario and causes reduced its rate of fall.

Obviously, Mario is a very popular character, who has been in many games, and has even inspired indie games and Flash games online, you get tons of hits and plays theater because they are free. With increasing demand for new games, you can search for Mario to keep evolving and testing the waters in new genres as well. The future remains as bright for Mario as he was 20 years ago.
